Does your dog:
-
Ignore you when called?
-
Drag you down the road on the end of a lead?
-
Run off as soon as you take off the lead?
-
Drag you to say hello to dogs?
If so, then this is a great workshop for you, covering the two skills that we are most commonly asked for help with outside of classes - coming when called and to walk nicely on a lead.
This course is split into theory (in a classroom) and practical outside in the covered polytunnel and enclosed dog-training field.
The workshop will run for 2.5-hours with a short break (please bring your own refreshments if required). There are toilets at the venue.
Being confident that your dog will come back to you when called is one of the most important aspects of being a responsible dog guardian and is important for safety too. Having a dog that walks nicely with you and is not dragging you down the road, makes walks much more pleasurable for everyone involved.
In this workshop, Nick will show you how to build strong foundations for both skills and share his tried and tested techniques for sucessful training of speedy recalls and loose-lead walking with all dogs of any age. The techniques he will use will be fun and motivating for your dogs, and you will be able to incorporate them into your walks too.
This workshop is open to all people-friendly and dog-friendly dogs, if you are not sure, please contact us before booking.
Please have your dog ideally in a harness or a flat collar.
No, e-collars, choke chains, slip leads or flexi-leads.

I really enjoyed the evening, it was great to start the session dog free, to lay the groundwork whilst we could all concentrate 100% on what you were saying.
As always with any training session with you I found it informative & inspiring, you always make me want to be a better owner & sometimes it’s easy to just get caught up in the day to day routine & forget some of the key basics.
