Now it is time to really have fun with your dog! Puppy Advanced is an extremely rewarding class that will greatly improve your dogs quality of life and your quality of life with your dog.
Using Puppy Basic as a foundation, Advanced classes are taught entirely off-leash to maximise play and socialisation. Puppies are trained within the play session so that owners may learn to calm and control their puppies when excited and distracted and that play may be used as the ultimate reward.
Puppy Advanced helps you navigate your puppys adolescence and transition into adulthood by maintaining bite inhibition, socialisation and perfecting reliable off-leash control at a distance. Our goal is to make sure your dog remains people-friendly, dog-friendly and safe, and develops the social savvy to become a relaxed, confident and well-behaved adult dog.
Early puppy training is as easy as it is enjoyable. Much more challenging though, is to ensure that your puppy maintains bite inhibition, remains socialised and continues to pay heed to you instructions through adolescence.
If bite inhibition, socialisation or basic manners are allowed to drift, off-leash walks and play in the park end very abruptly. Unfriendly, chasing, nipping and biting dogs are unwelcome and owners become frustrated when their dogs fail to come when called. On-leash walks are similarly short-lived because the dog has become accustomed to running at large and so, pulls furiously. Untrained dogs are seldom walked and instead are confined to the house and garden. Off-leash distance control improves the quality of life for dogs and their owners.

Much of the Puppy Advanced syllabus comprises proofing verbal and hand signal control without the need for food, or other training tools. All training rewards are replaced with more valuable life rewards until eventually, your young adolescent has been taught to want to do what you want him to do.
Exercises include: emergency distance-sits in play (for the home, garden, parks and off-leash walks), settle down, rock-solid stays, and both off-leash and on-leash walking and heeling. Puppy Advanced will help you teach your adolescent pup to be calm, attentive and responsive and to respond quickly, willingly and happily, especially when distracted, off-leash, and at a distance.
Before You Book: Your dog must have graduated from the Puppy Stars Puppy Basic class and be under 18 months of age.
